Acrylic Paintings and Hand Painted Cards

Acrylic on Canvas 3ft. x 2ft.

Welcome to Lynn's Creations!

The purpose of this blog is to display some of my endeavors in art making. After completing a degree in fine arts at the University of Guelph (many years ago) I worked in the public school system as an art teacher and later as a school administrator. Upon my retirement I spent some time teaching in China and Bangladesh and of course enjoying the opportunity to travel to many countries in Asia. Now that I have returned to New Brunswick, Canada I have more time for creative pursuits.

 Paintings

I enjoy working with acrylic paint on canvas and my subject matter tends to be either figurative or abstract. When it comes to realism, I am more interested in people than "things" or "landscapes". I also love creating abstracts and enjoy getting lost in the adventure of manipulating space with colour, shapes and textures. I have produced paintings for friends who have liked some of my work but needed a certain size or colour for a particular space. I enjoy painting custom made pieces to suit a specific place or decor.
I'm an "off again/ on again" dabbler, never really settling into a particular style or medium, ..... just having fun making art.

 Hand Painted Cards

I have always been interested in home decor and love poring over decorating magazines. The colour schemes, beautifully designed furniture and skillful arrangements fascinate me. These images have inspired many of my hand painted cards that for the most part display feminine themes. .... nothing profound, just pretty girl stuff!
